Cape Blanco

Between Coos Bay and Bookings we made a little detour to see the Cape Blanco lighthouse.

Actually we were looking for a campground there and we stumbled onto the lighthouse. It's normally cold and windy here. For us...no wind and 86 degrees.

This is the view inland from the cape. All of this wide open landscape and awesome scenery and they put the campground up in those thick trees where you can't see anything. We didn't stay overnight because we go the coast for scenery but the white spec in the middle of the picture is our trailer and where we parked was a great spot to eat lunch.

Connie and I took a tour of the lighthouse. That's not us up by the light cause I can't be in two places at once. I guess I could have used the GoPro remote again.

It's quite a lens they use. This is the only lighthouse in Oregon where you're able to go right up to the lens.

Hey, what do you know? They have two bulbs, in case one burns out.

This is the up stairway.

This is the down stairway. Yes, I'm just looking down on the same stairway.
