This morning we left Durango, CO and headed north. The whole idea of this route was to catch the fall colors in the San Juan mountains.
The plan worked! And it took us all day to go 168 miles.
We learned how to create a 4 way stop with just one post while we were in Silverton today. The town was built in 1820 and what that has to do with the single post 4 way stop I don’t know. I’m just throwing it in.
There were lots of threatening clouds today but usually when we need sun for the pictures we had it.
I’d have to say the timing for fall colors was about perfect. What would you say?
When we finished taking pictures and were leaving the mountains it started to rain on us.
Now we’re headed home but I hope we can still pick up some interesting pictures each day till we get there.
Beautiful, Tom! We spent a day in Silverton when we were in CO, but most of the leaves were gone when we were there. J&D
