OK, now it's Friday morning and things might be just slightly better here today. The fire fighting efforts have been fairly successful and the weather has been fairly cooperative. There is a little less smoke today but we are still in an "immediate threat evacuation zone". We are a little more positive today but it has been hard to deal with the constant smoke and putting your life on hold and we're not out of the woods yet. Until a fire is out there is always the danger of conditions changing and things getting out of hand rapidly. I am anxious for the threat to subside so we can finish getting ready and go. I could be using this time to finish packing the trailer but the trailer is not here.
I would like to post some pictures of the fire but I don't have any. First, all we have ever been able to see is smoke. Second, to get to any vantage point to take pictures requires traveling through evacuated neighborhoods, a big no no!
