Today we drove through Mount Airy, NC. No, it’s not really Mayberry but is the town where Andy Griffith grew up and it’s the one that Mayberry is based on. Remember how they used to drive over to the town of Mount Pilot on the show. Actually, what’s near Mount Airy is a Pilot Mountain. We didn’t find anything else interesting though.
Just up the road in Virginia we stopped for some pictures of this store.
We never figured out if it was open or not.
But it was quite interesting anyway.

We are camped right beside the Blue Ridge Parkway and tomorrow we start down it.
